The Earth is Better WhenYou Recycle

Feel the cool breeze as it gently touches your face. Breath the scent of grass mixed with a hint of flowers in bloom. Fold your arms across your chest and breath-in deep, as you appreciate the scenery before you.  From the clear skies you see a flock of birds fly by.  The trees to your right are all of different shades of green, its fruits smooth and luscious cling heavily to the branches.  The horse runs through the expanse of green meadows.  Have you reached Eden or Nirvana?  Can we only read about this in books?  Is this a mere dream?  Can we return to this time of simplicity?

As you blink, your eyes open to the reality that is right in front of you– The skies dreary with a dark mist that surrounds you.  The trees next to you are a bit dry, have yellow and light green leaves.  It looks as if it has not borne any fruit in years.  There is no green meadow but a row of buildings and factories.  The smell of smoke fills the air and your nostrils itch making you sneeze.

The air is densely polluted with smoke from cars, factories and incinerators.  The land is dying from all the toxic chemicals that had seeped through the soil.  In some areas water is no longer potable.   In all of the areas in this planet, the land, water and air is polluted. It will seep into the soil, contaminating the water table.

The answer to this dilemma is scrap metal recycling.  Recycling is the 3rd in waste management strategy of reduce, reuse, recycle.  Scrap metal recycling ensures that metals no longer in-use is collected, filtered for reusable parts, sorted and sold to mills.  These mills have the capacity to separate toxic substances to obtain the metal they need.  They have the means to dispose of the resulting toxic waste properly. The metal obtained is a vital resource for it can again be used.  There is no need to mine for metal ores.  Thus, scrap metal recycling complies with the 1st “R” in the waste management strategy currently being implemented by all the nations of the world.  It reduces the further exploitation of natural resources.  Scrap metal recycling also supports the 2nd “R” Reuse.  Upon collection of the gadgets or machines for scrap metal recycling, the next step is to disassemble parts that may be reused.  It is 50% cheaper to obtain authentic and original car parts from scrap metal centers or yards than to get brand new ones from the manufacturer.

Recycling surely helps to make earth a better place to live in.  Practice recycling to preserve the earth for future generations.
